OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR

Post by BonGoRANT10 » Fri Jun 11, 2010 1:38 pm

CODE 6
The HOLD light begins to flash after 20 mph on the speedometer. Using one of the excellent facts sheet I shorted the 2 pin sockets as indicated. On switching on the ignition the hold came on for a few seconds and thereafter flashed 6 times repeatedly. From more studying (6) I decided this was an OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR fault.
IS THIS CORRECT?
CODE 16
Another sheet refers to 1 & then 6 quick (16) as EGR position sensor system fault
(O AND X, with reference to GLOW and HOLD codes)
(Does O or X mean NOT flashing) in the fault code table.
My questions are (the BONGO is going great, autobox perfecty good changes up and down)

1. Am I doing any damaged by continuing to use my BONGO without an immediate repair.
2. Is just a case of replacing a sensor? (Cabling coming out of the passenger side rear of box seem from undernearth the BONGO seems to have been sniped away by a previous owner.
