Blown exhaust?

Post by ramblinman » Mon Jun 07, 2010 9:03 pm

I was driving between Nottingham and Mansfield this morning when I started hearing a noise the Bongo has never made before. Hard to explain but a throaty buzzing sound coming from the back left hand side. It increases when I am excelerating but the Bongo is running well with no noticable change in performance and the actual engine noise appears as normal. I suspected something wrong with the exhaust so managed to sneak off work early and drop it in at the tiny garage I use down the road. The mechanic rang me later to say that 'the exhaust is blowing somewhere' and he will put it on a ramp tomorrow to check it out (it really is a small garage and they dont have one).

Now the thing is is that I am driving to the Isle of Mull on Friday! Thats roughly an 800 mile round trip from Nottingham. I am hoping that if a part need replacing I can order off the internet to be delivered the next day by courier. Anyone know who is the most reliable to despatch for next day delivery? If I did not manage to get sorted in time would it be too risky to set off on a long journey. The Bongo is running just fine, just a bit noisier than normal!

Is it just the back box or does it need a middle section with the flexi joint?

Once you know what you need call the Club Shop on 0114-2550836, explain your situation & they'll pull out all the stops to get it where it needs to be the next day.

Hi Ramblinman, just seen your post. Recently changed my complete exhaust (low mileage) for a MIJ Stainless system, so I've got all the bits here in Loughborough. Conact me and I'm sure we can get you sorted asap
