Installing a TM-2 LCA combo in a V6

Post by bongo_adam » Tue Apr 06, 2010 9:47 am

Greetings All

Yesterday I took the opportunity to finally install the TM-2 that I purchased a few weeks ago. I read through the instructions carefully and worked out where the module is going to be placed in the cab (just in front of my left knee), etc.
Unfortunately I was unable to complete the job as I came across a few stumbling blocks which I'm hoping people will be able to advise me on:

1) Regarding the temperature sensor, there are a number of 'tapped holes' on the top of the engine but they are all too small for the bolt supplied with the kit. Is the bolt supplied for this purpose? If not does someone know the actual bolt size required? Just to be clear, I'm not referring to the screw supplied for the LCA.

2) More importantly I can't work out for the life of me how the sensor wires are supposed to reach their destinations. After a great deal of searching I couldn't see any way of getting the LCA sensor through the bulkhead, and likewaise couldn't find any way of getting the temperature sensor into the engine compartment other than under the seat. Surely this would result in a crushed cable?

Maybe I'm being a bit dense here and have missed something obvious, but I would appreciate some guidance on this matter.

Many thanks in advance

Best bet would be to give Haydn a shout, I'm sure he'll be able to sort it as the seller.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
