Bonnet Stay

Post by apole » Fri Mar 26, 2010 12:55 pm

Hi guys,

Wondering if anyone has a pic of how the bonnet stay is secured under the bonnet.

Opened mind up today and the support bar just fell out. No idea why as previously no issues with it. I can't see how it should be stowed, suspecting some plastic mounts or clips have come adrift or broken and gone AWOL.

If anyone has a pic of how it all works that would be great.

Thanks in advance.

There's a plastic clip which has probably bust. If you look at where you secure the 'Loose' end, then follow to your right, at the same height, you'll probably see the remains, although it may just have dropped out, it's a kind of 'Jiggle In' fit.

Typiclay white and square.

Thery're very cheap from Bongobits.

Hi,
I just got one of ebay. There are both 'ends' available. Mine is now much better than the one that kept falling off!!

The 2 Bonnet clips are available cheapest of all if you're a club member ON THIS LINK.

Or from the Bongo Fury shop ON THIS LINK.

The larger clip fits on the right and holds the bonnet stay, the smaller clip fits on the left.
Allans Garage retired. Try PGS (Plymouth Garage Services) or Mayflower Auto Services Plymouth
