Yes it was a new guage and it sat below zero when i plugged it in, after i gassed it up it was just below max allowed (blue i thinks).

I have one of those EZcharge kits. It worked fine on my previous cars (german) but on both a Yaris and now the bongo, the pressure gauge says it's too high (i.e. in the yellow section).
On the Yaris I did have it properly tested and regassed and after 3 years it had lost 20% of the charge, so I was confused as to why it overread on the EZ gauge.
Just had my smart car regassed at kwick Fit, OK tbh they couldn't find the valves, then when I told them they were at the front they asked how to open the bonnetbut I just removed the panel needed for them and watched them use the machine.
It seems a little better and for the money I'd say it was okay.
Sorry went' on there but my question was with the EX DIY kit on the bongo did the gauge read low to start with before you used it to top up?

Hi Nick & fellow Bongonauts
Re: Air con. Unfortunately, don't know of any air con places in Poole, but can heartily recommend Air Medic (in Weymouth) who have recently serviced my air con I thought at a very reasonable price of £45. That included drainage, service and refill. They're worth giving a ring, they explain in advance what they'll do and what they'll charge.
They are mobile, but I don't know what they would charge to travel to Poole. All I can suggest is you give either Mike Gale or Richard Munn a ring. Their contact details are: 01305 775 333, or mobile 07757 252450 & 07757 252451. Their address is 252 Dorchester Road, Weymouth, DT3 5AX.
If you can mention my name if you contact them I'm hoping for a discount on the next air con service!!!
Hope this is of some help
With regards
Brian

Re: Air Con and Air Con in Poole
The Air Medic guys have just left, having refilled my now reduced capacity, front AC only system, they spent well over an hour emptying anything that was left in, vacuum testing it & then refilling, I think it was struggling with the arctic wind blowing across my driveway & only managed to get just over 500g of gas in (supposed to be 700g apparantly, rather than the 950g for both, can anyone confirm this 100%?), they'll give it another go when the weather gets warmer if necessary, only cost me £40. Nice guys, well worth giving them a shout if you haven't had your AC checked or if it's not quite doing the business.

Re: Air Con and Air Con in Poole
Hi Nick,
If you investigate the Air Medic guys from Weymouth and they're happy to travel to Poole, let me know as I'd be happy for them to give my system an overhaul whilst they're in the area (Bmth) and maybe we could strike a deal with them!!
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks for pointing out the obvious oversight Kirsty!
