willinton charger problem?

i have fitted the kit and checked it twice but it just keeps making clicking noise and if i have the dash lights on its as if they are pulsing any ideas would be great

Sounds like your leisure battery may be flat? Charge it up with a charger and try again.

Check the output voltage from the alternator too, could be goosed?

could you point me in the right direction on how to do this have no idea about cars sorry

so if the battery is flat wont the split charger charge it then i thought that what it was for ?

Eventually, but the initial surge into a flat battery may well overload it and cause it to trip out. They are really meant to keep the battery charged, rather than charge it from scratch. Basically, when camping, your leisure battery will never go completely flat, but it may go flat if not used for a long time and still connected.

Do you have a good earth connection on the relay?

i have taken the battery out and it flat so i have put that on charge i was told by a guy in a camping shop that i popped in to see on the way home to leave it on charge for 72 hours is that right just seems a long time i have taken the unit off and scraped away more paint just have to see if any of this helps i have emailed willinton and he also said about the earth but he said that if i had a problem with the kit not to worry and he would sort it so that great sevice on his part

The time will depend on that sort of charger you have. A lot of them these days are only rated at 4 Amps or so Max., if the charger were to use 4 Amps for the whole of 24 Hours then a 95 Amp/Hr battery would be getting on for about 80-90% charged in that time (its not a 100% efficient), however most chargers will reduce the current as the voltage rises and hence it takes a lot longer than 24 hours to charge to full capacity, so 2-3 Days will ensure that you really are fully charged.
