Greetings Bongonauts!
I haven't posted on here in ages but have a small problem that I'd like to sort. I recently got my radiator changed - everything fine except since then fresh air no longer comes thru dashboard vents.
If I turn on the fan I get cooler air on the cool settings but it's not as chilly as it used to me.
If you're wondering why I would want cooler air in March - it's because I'm based on the Costa del SOl at the mo'!
Hot settings seem fine though perhaps the full fan is a shade less powerful than before.
cheers

Cheers Steve
Linkeages all seem in proper order. Am going to take the bongo for another spin and see if any change.

I'd get it checked for leaks again, they may have disturbed sumat.

Oh! Thought the cold air just took in from the main inlet.
The air-con itself seems to be fine.

Have a look here
http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 43&t=28727 may be some pointers.
Are you saying the air isn't cold enough? = a/c not woking, gas leak maybe?
Or are you saying it's not blowing hard enough? = Fan control problems or fan not not working properly
Or are you saying it's not blowing in the right place? = Linkages/flaps probably disconnected
Have you got the manual a/c heatersystem or the digital climate control?

Thanks for the info Kirsty. Still baffled though.
Was saying the air isn't cold enough when all sliders on the blue and a/c is off. My bongo has the manual system. With the a/c on the air is cold and vents are working ok.
HOWEVER - no air is coming through the dashboard vents unless the fan is on. Presume this not normal.
I'm guessing something got knocked out of place at the inlet end of things and that the air is getting heated when it shouldn't.

So the a/c works fine & produces cold air? But with it off the air coming in seems to be too warm?
There may be a lever on the side of plastic inlet scoop under the bonnet, it's for winter summer changeover on some models, can't remember which way is which, but try that? or check that you're not on recirc air? But surely if it's warm outside with the a/c off it will be warm air coming in?
Is the heater control working? just wondering if that linkage has come loose?
If it's down to the fan being less powerful it could be the fan isn't working as it should, water ingress in the fan motor, can cause friction which melts the solder in the resistor pack due to higher load.

Could be this - have just adjusted and that allows more air in.
or check that you're not on recirc air? Not sure how this operates
Is the heater control working? just wondering if that linkage has come loose? Yes, heating works fine.
If it's down to the fan being less powerful it could be the fan isn't working as it should, water ingress in the fan motor, can cause friction which melts the solder in the resistor pack due to higher load. Don't think this is the problem.
Will take Bongo for a spin tomorrow and hopefully it's just the summer changeover that was knocked out of place resulting in less cold air getting into the system?

Recirc is the middle slider I think on the manual control, either pulls air in from outside, or recircs the air inside, needs to be fully right to draw in air fully from the outside & again it could be the linkage adrift if it's not doing what it's supposed to, but hopefully it's just the lever jobby

All sorted
With the setting back to summer on the air inlet and the recirc fully right the Bongo is now cool. Muchas gracias!!
