AUTO GEAR BOX

Post by Borikki » Tue Jul 11, 2006 8:19 pm

Hi one and all. I have just had to put my bongo into a garage because I could only get 2nd and 3rd gear, I have been told by the mechanic that it is the solinoids in the gear box, has anyone suffered with the same problem? :(

It could indeed be the solenoids but it could be less or more. Your gearbox is running in default mode which means there is a problem. If you are a club member, there is a fact sheet with default modes and how to read them. At the very least, only use an autobox specialist, it will save you money in the long term and they are complex creatures.

Thanks Tom, Have got it booked in with a autobox specialist but it's good to know we are doing the right thing! Will have a look at the fact sheets thanks for the advice.

hi.electrical problems seem to be rife with the mazdas,if it is the solenoids then it should be a lot cheaper to sort than a clapped out gearbox.paul
