how do you check if the big fan is working ? located at the front of the engine.

Turn on your air con & the rad fan/s should kick in, or disconnect the sensor connection on the drivers side of the engine, towards the rear above the hose that goes over the starter motor, with the engine running it should kick in. Of course this doesn't test whether the sensor is working & assuming you have a diesel?

I think 007 means the air scavanger fan Miss Moneypenny. Remove the centre console and you'll se a plug near the handbreak - disconnect it and the fan MIGHT come on if the conditions are right

You're probably right Q
You probably won't be able to hear the scavenge fan come on, it runs very quietly, even with the seats lifted, I could only tell mine was running by looking in & feeling the air flow (don't stick your fingers in
)
