Engine Cleaning
Anyone know if the small (1kw) hand-held steam cleaners would do a good job on alloy engine cases off my bike?
Any other suggestions?

Re: Engine Cleaning
1) Probably, at least on the bits you can reach. I don't think they work upside down, so access can be a problem.
2) Gunk, brushed on and washed off - the smell of Gunk on a hot engine is so romantic
If you don't like the pong of Gunk, you could try Jizer

Hi
Alternatively, John, leave it dirty.and settle down to the wonderful niff of a flagon of Scrumpy
SD
Agree with John....works wonderfully, and finish off with a Karcher
Cheers

Shouldn't do really.... Chuck a bit of shampoo on the carpet whilst doing the bike, that should stop the missus moaning about you bringing so called "dirty" things indoors. It's too cold to be doing that type of stuff outside, so you don't really have much of an option BUT to do it in the house. Just be careful that the Karcher is ventilated, you don't wanna ruin the motor by overheating it.

What's "missus"? How do I tell if I've got one? Do I need one? Are they expensive? Can you rent then for when you need them?bigdaddycain wrote:that should stop the missus moaning about you bringing so called "dirty" things indoors.

2. As above simply listen, check wallet, take note on how much you smile.
3. Not answering that one! My missus browses here!
4. OH YES!
5. I've heard that's possible, or you can engage one, which is like contract hiring a car. If you MARRY one though, that's like buying that contract hired car which you've done many miles in...Then you are stuck with it!

Re: Engine Cleaning
Looks like I've not got one.
I know that all the cars I've had so far have been round the block a few times, some needed bodywork, some weren't good from cold, and lots seemed to develop steering problems - setting off in random directions for no apparent reason. Overheating was quite common too.
Think I'll stick with polishing the engine ........

A fruity little japanese number should see you right... very compliant, and not too much bother if you flush them out & change the fluids regularly...

I believe their is a "knack" to plugging them in correctly, i reckon they'll soon adjust to the difference in the size..of the voltage.

Re: Engine Cleaning
Thanks, all.
I googled this topic, and the top two results were Tiger Woods and Ashley Cole. Having read how they juggled so many "commitments", I think I could be ready for a "Missus".
When browsing another (foreign) Bongo site, I noticed that there were lots of potential "Missus" available in Russia, and have decided that a cheap source of Bongobits, would be an added bonus.
Things have not gone too smoothly, though. I thought I had sent a proposal to one lady, however I got a reply asking for my bank details - I can only assume I sent it to the Bongo club by mistake.
She appears to have lots of "cousins" who are also single, and she said they had all spent considerable time in the backs of vans, ideal partners for all you single Bongo owners.
Keep you posted......
