Roof won't arise

Post by nicolepuk » Wed Jul 05, 2006 11:49 pm

The roof is dead - though was up a couple of days ago. I think this is related to the wiring connection to either handbrake or gear stick. Does anyone have any wiring info they could send / pics or other advice (yes I have seen previous thread).

p.s. yes, it is in park/ handbrake light is on

An obvious question maybe, but have you checked the fuses?

Do the beeps beep and does the light flash?

haven't checked fuses - will look at that. I suspect it is not this as the roof failed Friday, then worked Saturday, now is not showing any signs of life.
No beeps, no lights
& yes engine running.

I had a problem with my roof and was advised to check a switch beneath the handbrake, apparently it is prone to foul up with dust and fluff. You need to remove the consul to get at it. It wasn't what caused my problem but it might be worth checking.

vic
does it actually look like a switch ... or a block with wires going in?

nicolepuk I don't know what it looks like, my problem was solved by pulling the handbrake up a couple more notches. Advice about the switch was given by one of the Bongoliers.

if the handbrake light on the dash comes on (with the ign on) the switch is probably ok. there is a micro switch in the roof also, this sometimes plays up
