Buying hoses.

Hi all,I'm having a top hose fitted soon at Outback Autos,and was wondering if it was worth while having all four fitted at

the same time If so,can anybody tell me which member on the Fury website sells the silicon ones. Thanks in

Flippa on the forum, not sure what he's got left as he was selling off some off his stock cheap a few weeks ago - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... es#p374212, I'd change what you can top failures are top hose, hose over starter to rear heater & bleed hose.
Good opportunity for a proper chemical flush & change the stat.

Will I need any gaskets to go with a thermostat? Cheers

No gaskets needed, fitted rubber seal ring does the job.

Be extra prepared for possibility that new silicon hose might leak from insufficient tightening up of / settling of jubilee clips (only use the special quality ones) as a few have had this problem when new ones fitted. If you've got an LCA and carry some spare 50/50 you should have adequate insurance

Know what you mean! I've pm'd him and heard nothin! But after speaking to Steve at Outback,he's going to replace

just the top hose and flush the system,I mentioned the thermostat,and he said if it aint broke,don't fix it! Good

advice in my skint state!! Being done next Monday!!

So you'll wait til the stat does break? could be an expensive error for the sake of a few quid while you're flushing it anyway.

I did ask him about it Kirsty,but he said he's never had a Bongo with a failed stat yet So I am just taking his advice.

I'll ask him again on Monday,and if he's got one,I'll push for him to fit it.

I've spoken to well versed bongo mechanics that would most definitely disagree with that, very surprised at that answer from a highly recommended bongo garage

To be honest Kirsty,it's going up for sale again in a couple of months,so I can't really afford what doesn't need doing.

I just don't use it enough. When I move back to Derbyshire,I'll probably get a diesel estate and go tenting instead.

Thanks Mike,circumstances have changed 'YET' again!! We're now moving back to Derbyshire at easter,and I

should be starting back in the glazing business again. I have sold the mobile bar though! And yes,somebody

will get a good 'un,so to speak.
