Water pump......

Hi guys.
If the water pump is on its last legs and not doing what it is supposed to.....ie pump water would it then back up and cause pressure build up in the rad ?

Is there any way to test the pump is working correctly ?

if it were siezed i suppose it would stop flow.
more likely the rad is blocked and stopping flow.

Amuch brighter brain will be along soon with an answer I'm sure but I am moving this to techie to get a better chance of an answer

Possibly. In your other post HERE you mention a knocking sound. I've heard water pumps make a knocking noise when they fail, I've also heard the cooling system make a knocking noise when it's overheated. I've also known water pumps to make no noise... and fail.
I guess you could take you could take the pump off and have a look at it/listen to it.
