I had an alternator fail after 11 months, don't rule it out, hopefully it is something simpler though.

Alternators do cause tranny faults so I agree look there as it only appears to happen with the lights on. Speedo conversions are notorious in the trade for causing transmissions to mess about. Were you to check you tranny fault codes my guess you would have an output speed sensor code, but as Kirsty says, that could well be a red herring & the alternator be messing about. Unless your Bongo has had a trauma & is now frightened of the dark! :( :lol: :lol:

Nipped into Wheelquick this afternoon and had it confirmed that its the "chip" thats faulty.

Taking it back in the morning and they will replace it,so, hopefully,job sorted.

Chip replaced, £57 fitted,went for a run up to the Lakes and everything now seems hunkey dory.
