Dash switch
to the right of the steering wheel u have a switch to operate the rear heater,
next to this I have a blank switch where I was looking to fit a front fog switch into,
on removing the blank it has a wiring block conected to it.
Could anyone tell me what would be fitted there on other modelS and what the connector block is for.thanks.

Re: Dash switch
It works a valve in the exhaust to heat the engine up quicker. It's only fitted to the winter versions with twin batteries.

Re: Dash switch
Could it not be the front fog loom already in place?

Re: Dash switch
Hi bawgixer,
If it Is a Blank Switch ie a (Dummy),it is probably for the front fog lamps..
If you follow the wiring you will see the lamp connectors at the end.
Ps did I see you in L##### or C######.

Re: Dash switch
Not necessarily, the Front Fog lamps are operated via a relay, so the wiring from the switch goes to the relay on the nearside bumper and the wiring to the lamps comes from the relay itself.rita wrote:If you follow the wiring you will see the lamp connectors at the end.

Re: Dash switch
I love the optimism of "follow the wiring"

Re: Dash switch
In days of yore, when I was a Apprentice in BT, all the wires on a rack would be laced together with loops at 1" intervals like this;

One of the other apprentices who had only just joined, had been asked to "follow the wire back", so he did by cutting all the lacing to follow that one wire ... he had yet to learn about colour codes
Trouble was we ALL ended up having to re-lace about 9 feet of cable form
He wasn't allowed to forget that for three years
