Hold Light flashing, no error codes, help!!

Post by foolishnotion » Wed Jan 27, 2010 5:26 pm

I had a reconditioned gearbox fitted 7 months ago and the hold light recently started flashing. There is no obvious problem with driving and the only fault I can detect as the driver is that the hold button doesn't work when the light flashes. The light only flashes after 10 minutes or so of driving. The place that fitted the gearbox say there are no error codes and cant find anything wrong. They reckon it could be a control fault or wiring. Any ideas???

Maybe try checking for codes yourself? There is a factsheet on doing so in the members area, I would be surprised if there wasn't an error code stored personally. Doesn't have to be a transmission problem (i.e. could be the TPS on the injector pump) but equally you could have an issue with an electrical component in the trans. Worth printing off the factsheet & ggetting a 2nd opinion if you don't feel comfortable checking for codes yourself.

hold light usually indicates a gearbox problem and the pick ups on the diagnostic port are different?
