tyre sizes, my new van has odd shoes on???

Post by Goodenough4U » Tue Jan 26, 2010 6:29 pm

hello, iv only just joined the world of the bongo. decided the old vw had to go and in with the new.

but the van has different sizes tyres, but same sized alloys. the front ones are smaller than the back and im a little worried this might upset the 4WD gearbox?

any ideas?

thanks,
andy

That's how they're supposed to be http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =43&t=7895 depending on what sizes you have obviously, look on the door pillar, it should give you relevant tyre sizes, pressure I ignore as it seems to be too low for modern tyres.
A lot of people will replace with the same size all round, most important is the load & speed rating as well as the age of the tyre.
Check your spare too, make sure you haven't still got a wheelbarrow tyre as a spare (probably past its use by, even new maxspeed of 50mph with a max range of 50 miles), get it replaced with a full size spare, plenty of room under there. Tools should be in the cubby in the sliding door.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
