Mirror Glass
Hi
I'm new here! the mirror glass on the passenger side has just vanished (not sure when or how). It's a 1999 model. any idea where to get a replaement? And how does the glass fit to the mechanism?

Re: Mirror Glass
They do the convex heated & unheated too, very good price (I'm nowt to do with them)
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
Re: Mirror Glass
thanks, I've ordered. assume it'll be obvious how to fit.

Re: Mirror Glass
Strange - they say its flat glass then recommend you should get convex glass. Is the Bongo original glass flat? Also, they say its heated (though Bongos don't accommodate mirror heating) but don't say anything about why it should be heated or how the element is integrated with the glass. We were discussing heated mirror glass recently weren't we?
I'm confused (as usual

Re: Mirror Glass
well, the mirror glass has arrived, yes it has wires for the heating - but is just flat with some what look like sticky strips on the back. Can't do much as its dark out there and I don't have a garage. But I kinda thought that there would be a fitment so it'd just press in.missfixit70 wrote:This thread may help - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... %26+mirror
not even that sure this is the right part....

Re: Mirror Glass
Most replacement mirrors just stick on the existing mounting or over the top of the existing mirror, I think the assumption is that you're replacing your mirror as it is broken.

Re: Mirror Glass
This is what you need, First pic shows the passy mirror with the gimbal jobby with a clip on each corner (just happened to have one in my bits box - bought it for the closing mechanism as mine is a bit temperamental
) with the plastic mirror mounting piece

Second pic shows the mounting points on the rear of the monuting piece

If you don't have this bit & the mirror is the right size/shape (allow for the surround of the mount that it sits in, compare it to the drivers side one), pm me your name & address & I'll pop it in the post for ya

Re: Mirror Glass
Hi Chris
When you have the mirrors fitted into the backing, could you post some piccies?, as I feel mine might be broken when the weather warms up (with the aid of a toffee hammer!)
Thanks
Cheers
