Rear window squirter...

Post by Sluggy » Wed Jan 20, 2010 11:55 am

Hi guys :)

my back squirter aint working but the wiper is, does this mean that its not a fuse problem?
I have checked the hole and there's no obstruction and there is no sound like it's trying to squirt. I am thinking it may be the pump? any ideas?

Is bottle full? Rear washer outlet is higher than the front, so it sometimes doesn't work whilst the front does. Both pumps are on the washer bottle at the front.

This has been covered before - have a search. Trying to remember but did it end up being no more than a detached pipe/tubing?

Hmmm, that's how I know when it's time to fill up again    Seriously, in recent conditions I was using masses more washer fluid than I normally use between visual checks.

I'll throw another idea in the mix...!! A split or disconnected hose?? There maybe washer fluid running down the tailgate recess or roof lining..? Start by testing the power supply to the pump!
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Put rear hose on front pump and press front washer.
This will test everything from pump onwards.

How odd - I was going to post exactly the same question tonight!
Already checked the water level so know it's something needing a bit more investigation - thanks for the tip about swapping the front rear pipes over - will rule out a few things!
