The gear selection indicator strip, near the gear stick has broken and I am trying to get at it. Does anyone know how to do this, ie remove the gear stick? Have searched for it in the forum but no luck - Am I using the right phrase 'gear stick' ?
Stockport is full of snow - great fun.

Theres a screw out of sight on the cubby hole side of the shift...

Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Re: How do you remove the gear stick?
To elaborate, mine was cracked & i replaced with a white plasma job when i did the dials..
I removed the center console, then kind of put the shift in S, then took the screw out, pulled the head up (from bad memory)
un-clipped the selector dooby, broke out the old, slid in the new in situ.
There is a wire for the hold light & some plastic to do with the move out of park stuff in there, try not to move it!
.. Oh & don't lose the screw...

Re: How do you remove the gear stick?
THERE ARE TWO SCREWS ON THE GEAR SHIFT. (if its an auto gear shift)
one at the side of the stick and one at the back of the stick.
one at the side of the stick and one at the back of the stick.
Lost without my Bongo.
