No I haven't seen the set up with direct jets, sounds interesting, though I must confess, that bit is fine. It is the regularity with which I need to lube the arms to keep presure on the screen that bugs me most about the current set up.
Cheers

Re: Floppy wipers
I tried those with conventional wipers as I hate the mess left on a nicely polished bonnet from the normal jets - works ok, but as the jet is in the middle of the blade, it doesn't really cover the screen, especially the lower part at any speed. I made some small holes in the tubing lower down where I'd cable tied it to the arm. Currently trying to come up with a tidy looking version that gives decent coverage.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
Re: Floppy wipers
Citroen BX's and IIRC Peugeot 405's of a certain vintage had spray bars on the wiper arms. Pipes of around 1mm in diameter, with various perforations along the length to spray 4 or 5 jets of water on both sides of the blade, all the way from the 'inner' end to about 3/4 of the whole blade length.
They did suffer from an icing issue though - much more susceptible to freezing up than conventional bonnet mounted jets.

Cheers Dave, gives me sumat to look out for when it's warm enough to trawl the scrappy again, icing up isn't a huge issue down here, especially by the time I crawl out of my pit

Some links :-
http://www.205gti.com/techruitenwisUK.htm - Not too clear, but you get the idea. This is someone sticking a BX wiper on a 205GTi
http://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/wiki/ind ... Elise_Misc And here adding one to a Lotus Elise - complete with Citroen part No.
http://wiki.seloc.org/a/Windscreen_washer_mod and here, listing Citroen and Peugeot part No's, along with other options.
The citroen had a waterway through the centre of the wiper spindle too - overkill really.
