okay, I've done some further investigation on the linkages etc...

The linkages seem to be intact and move when different settings are used.

The passenger side one, doesn't seem to move on any setting though.

Am I expecting too much from the window de-mist or is there likely to be a problem?

Driver side links look fine.
Not sure what the other link on the passenger side does - I'll go and check mine to see if it moves when the controls are operated. I'll be back!!!! as the man said

I'm back.
The controls don't seem to operate anything in the passenger side (on mine anyway)
BUT I took another look at your driver side linkage and there is an arm missing on yours on the link at 1 o clock. The rod is there but there is nothing attached to it.(extreme top right end of link) Therein lies your problem I reckon. Can be moved manually until you get a replacement arm (or find the one that has dropped off!!!!!!)
I'll doctor some pics and add to post.

This could (more than very likely) be the culprit.

....and, I've just found it lurking behind a piece of lifted carpet in the foot well.

....and while you are in that area, you may want to do a bit of tidying up.
The white connector block fits in the receiver (see bottom pic) - It keeps the cable out of the way of straying feet!!!!!


.....and one more thing, if you need to drive the Bongo and want the blower onto the screen, you can rotate the spindle (the one with the missing link) with a pair of pliers.
OK, your feet may get cold but at least you will be able to see where you are going.

A clean screen demists much more easily than a grimy one (i'm not suggesting your windscreen is dirty,but regular misting can leave a film) I use Autoglym glass polish on mine,and it seems to help.

If you take a look at bdc's posts, you will see that he is VERY particular about cleaning his motor, so on his recommendation I tried Autoglym glass polish and YES, this stuff really does work.

..............and DO try this - it's excellent!!!!!!!!!! ............made a HUUUUUUUUUUUUGE difference to mine

Absolutely. I know the heater matrix thing is only a sideline, but mine - although OK before I stripped it just as a preventative move - benefitted greatly from being cleaned out. I can recommend it as a not v. difficult and worthwhile job on a spare day once the weather improves.

I think I will have a go at the matrix, but as suggested, wait until the weather is a little more appealing.

I've also fixed the loose cable and re-inserted the connector to the clip. Good idea.
