Floppy wipers

Hi All,

Given how much maintenance my wiper blades are requiring, I would like to fit some of the modern 'floppy' wipers. I have seen several on evilbay but given the 'bongo-bull' on evilbay I'm unsure as to which will suit, if at all.

Has anyone bought and fitted these front and rear, and if so please can you recommend or otherwise where to go.

Ian, I didn't see them in the shop, but if they are now there that would be an easy decision.

hi Andy

not fitted them to the rear but when fitted to the front they make one hell of a difference
you can get them on ebay for around £7.99 pair

one tip for you
i always use rain x as well and then you dont have to use the wipers that often as water just repells off the screen ( the faster you go the better the visability) motorway driving is exellent

Is it the aero wipers?

I wasn't hugely impressed with any difference initially, but they seemed to take a week or two to "bed in" to the right contour, seem pretty good now

I put a bigger one on the rear than the recommended 14", I think it was 16" or 17", no fouling, works fine.

I got mine from Tesco..... now £6 each......... 24"/16" front and 16" back......... just replaced after a year as the rubbers were getting "hard"......also the RainX tip is a good one........I have used the stuff since 1980......you can now get it as a window cleaner/Rainx in one product.......every time you clean your windows......a film of rainx gets applied..... I also use it for lights too....

Well I can't find a 17" single for the rear, so might have a nosey in tesco's.

RainX, will also have a look out for. I've used dmist before, for the inside. Needs a few applications but found it to be great at this time of year.

I managed to get about 6 wipers for a tenner...they need replacing regularly, as I have never found the "everlasting" wiper....The quest goes on, as I search far and wide for the legendary superwiper....and the holy grail....the Loch Ness Monster, Mokele M'Bembe, Chupacabra, Champie, and the free lunch....

Still searching....

I'll follow them up. I presume you just replaced the blades, not the arms too?

Rain-X is ace, used to use this on racing cars moons ago coz wipers just weren't up to it, but sadly no good for salty filth

Used Fog-X inside too.

Might have to try Halfrauds too then.

yes Andy
just change the blades and they aint as fiddly to change as normal wipers just lift the flap and slot over the arm and clip together

Have you seen Missfixit's set up with the windscreen washer nozzles actually housed into the wiper arms Andy?
