thanks for all your advice guys and girls im going to flush it through and re bleed the system today as to a voltage drop dont seem to have any issues with the alternator and reading through some of the replies it was mentioned about a scavager fan which circulates air to the block anyone no were this plugs into i.e what makes it come on or should it be on all the time

Scav fan should very rarely come on, so that shouldn't be your problem, I don't believe it has much to do with normal engine cooling.
When you say you have no alternator issues, have you checked output voltage?

I think you're right. Prolonging life of electrical and ancillary stuff in the engine compartment yes, passenger comfort by reducing heat in cab yes, normal engine heating no, although I like to think it might help a little to reduce a delayed boilover in the event the coolant system is not working as efficiently as it should. But I wouldn't relax into assuming that!

Do you think it could be alternator related perchance?? :D I've read something up on here about that... :idea: I may be mistaken but severe temp drops where a sign of impending alternator doom!?? :-k
When my alternator started to fail the temp gauge reverted from it's Mason damped performance to normal Mazda performance. i.e it sat at 11 o'clock - no rise or fall with engine revs. That was with a failing as opposed to knackered alternator though, so might be different at different stages of failure?
