Did you bleed it properly or just fill it back up with coolant? sounds like it's overheating, get it bled properly.

Have you got the standard temp gauge of do you have a Mason alarm fitted?
If standard, you are seriously overheating when the gauge rises  I am assuming that you carried out the proper bleeding procedure to get all air out of the system?

Do you have a Mason alarm fitted?

How long have you had the van, and has it done this before?

Welcome, you're asking in the right place but not enough info.

Do you have any ancillary alarms (Mason or Low Coolant) fitted?

How often has the coolant level been checked recently?

Are you getting heat out of the blowers?

Where are you located?

I would advise not driving it until you've got it sorted, you will knacker the head/gasket. What made you fit a new stat?
There is a factsheet in the members area on coolant bleeding methods. Are you losing coolant?

no ancillary alarms ,normally checked monthtly and yes heat out of blowers had me bongo for 3 years and this problem as only just started in this last week and only seems to happen when engine under load as you can leave it ticking over outside for a hour or 2 and the gauge stays @ 11oclock postion

Thoughts are a lazy stat (why did you change it), or not bled quite right.

I'm in the throes of the same prob at the moment, but my meter is "undamped", and more sensitive to a few degrees change. As Kirsty says, I'd be wary of using until sorted.

As the gauge rises with engine speed it looks like it could be voltage related and not a coolant problem.

Even though it takes a few minutes for the temp to return to 11oclock?
It is a bit of a strange one though as the temp is actually going back down :?

Do you think it could be alternator related perchance?? :D I've read something up on here about that... I may be mistaken but severe temp drops where a sign of impending alternator doom!?? :-k

Hi,
How is your temp gauge undampened. Is it a Mason Mod or a Hyden Mod.
