G8dhe, Grahame at work, you are right!! I gave it some thought it's way to damn risky to even contemplate... Don't worry i didn't try it... 8)

The unit i am using is a Gemini 2244, i don't own a scanner & my search is fruitless for an on-line diagram.. Though i do still have the instructions! I fitted the grey & green wires from the module to the green with white stripe to interrupt the mirror close direction.. I know that works because when the switch is down & the van locks it closes em! (See my previous posts.)
I also have two negative feed wires in the loom of the module.. (according to the manual they don't get used?) But one of them becomes grounded when the unit is activated for the same time the mirrors work! But not when the ignition is on & not when the mirrors have finished closing!

I have come to the conclusion the mirror switch design is the fly in the ointment, it's not the same as the electric window set up, the mirror wiring is more like (in principle.) the factory manual CL???
How about taking the mirror switch out of the loop, replace it with a 12v relay? Then you would only have to energise the coil in order to close the mirrors, rewire the switch to energise the relay to overide it and close the mirrors. I would also put a switch in the feed from the alarm to stop the alarm opening/closing them if youre jumping in and out of the bus around town (so as not to put too much wear on the motor).

To power this all you need is a wire from the alarm that is either + or - when the alarm is set.

This is all assuming that i have read the schem right (its been a while). #-o

Yup, there is nothing on line that helps, a few references to the unit on the Gemini site but it doesn't even seem to be a current design having been superceded by the 2344 module that does intercept both wires to the motors.

If you have played with the unit with a multi-meter can you say what voltages are present on the wire (Green/White) that goes to the motor side;
1. When Ignition is OFF and doors NOT locked ?
2. When Ignition is OFF and doors have been locked ?

Sorry i haven't been around for a week Geoff, I got in from finally sorting the mirrors so they close on locking & open when i turn the ignition on last Saturday... :P & my puter died right after my last post!!!

The answer to question 1 & 2, there is no voltage when the ignition is off. However the Gemini 2244 takes over & pushes out 12 volts to the motor side to close (green/white stripe) when the alarm locking is triggered for a few seconds..
When the ignitions on, the mirrors act as normal & can be open or closed from the switch.

On a two window closure unit i only needed to use one side for the mirrors..!

OK that's good if you've got it sorted to your satisfaction, I was going to see if we could put a relay and a few components between both the standard switch the 2244 module and the motors to come up with the solution but it sounds like you've got there!

Thanks Geoff, the 2244 was the solution.. The unit is capable of controlling windows (or in this case the mirrors.) with either a negative of positive feed? The positive pushes the mirror, the negative acted as a bypass for the mirror switch.

I already had the positive feed in line on the close green/white stripe mirror wire..

I just took the negative trigger to the green with black stripe mirror motor wire spliced it in line with a fuse & it worked! Though you wont find it in the instructions..

They now close when locking, & open when the ignition is switched on... Timed just right for when the glow plug light goes out...

I've had this set up for about two weeks now & so far so good! 8)

Though i must add this mod is NOT a good idea for anyone with a leisure battery mirror/radio/cig lighter constant live set up...! yer better off just flicking the mirror switch...
