I'd definitely be up for it! It's been on my list for ages.

That's if I've got my Bongo by then....and if I get someone to look after my 6 year old.....

:-k :-k looks interesting - if the dates are near our trips to Shropshire I think I would be up for that.

No chance of anyone else from the family doing it mind  - so I'd be looking for support and encouragement from you lot 8)

I'll save my fuel money and stand outside the front door with a few mates for a few hours and get cold and wet that way!!!! Or run into the sea fully clothed

Seriously, it's a great idea but neither destination is on our list of weekend destinations for 2010.

Hi Guys and Galls.

Bit of a Bump. Just been having a look at some sites local to the Llangollen Gorge Walking as this seems to be the preferred choice of location.

Has anyone any ideas of a campsite for those that wish to camp.

I have had a look at this one as it is pretty close to Llangollen, never been before. I will give them a ring to see which months are best and if they could take us.

Tower Farm

Update:

I have called the site and they are prepared to offer us a separate field for our group. They can take 20+ units and at that number it would be approximatley £12 per night. She will accept Bongo families with a caravan at no extra charge, but you must not be sleeping in the Bongo (her words)

This is however a field without electric hookup, level and grass. It is not to far away from the showers and toilets. Freezers available for ice blocks.

August seems a good month for this site as she has no bookings for the field as yet.

Weeks available in August are, 6th, 13th and 20th.

I need to call the Gorge Walking People to see what availability there is to accommodate a group.

Please could peeps post up with interest. ASAP so that I know if this will go ahead.

Cheers

If I remember rightly we stayed at this site during the annual Llangollen balloon festival a couple of years ago. Great site, good amenities and friendly owners. Only a stones throw from the town centre too! If it's the same one, positioned up behind the International Pavilion, I'd recommend it.

Andrew

ps It's also ideally positioned for a walk up to the top of Dinas Bran with stunning views from up there!

If you could make the camp that would be equally good.

Left a message for the Wales Activity peeps as there email thingy isn't working.

Oh lordy what have I let myself in for
