I got a set of fuel pump seals from the Club, and got my garage to have a go at replacing them with the instruction sheet on the club site.
One problem with the fuel seals was that the club supplied four identical seals, and the mechanic could only find two points where they fitted. He said there were seals of other sizes that might have been needed that I didn't have.
Anybody got any more details on what seals should be needed? Does it vary from diesel model to diesel model?
I asked Ian at the club, and he answered reasonably that he supplied four the same, as that was what someone had told him was the right thing...
If someone with actual experience of doing this could reply, I'd be most grateful.
Cheers
Chris

Thanks, Wonkanoby, that's really helpful.
The first link is where the BongoMeister made his factsheet from. Still not sure why he is selling the fuel seals in 4s if only two are needed...
The second one looks like the next set of steps for me to try to find the leak.
On the "be careful what you wish for" front, I did say to myself that I needed the leak to get worse so I coud find it, and the increasing difficulty of starting implies that is happening...
I'll tell you what happens...
Thanks
Chris

Re: Anyone replaced fuel pump seals?
Some have managed this job, albeit with raw knuckles and some swearing. Small hands help too. I tried it and managed only to do my back in as I could not manage the bending over while I tried to do a job where - with my hands - I found access nigh on impossible anyway. Interestingly, Adrian in Bury (a v. experienced Bongo mechanic but also with 'back issues') told me he would only do this job after removing the pump. Harry managed to get a lad at a garage to do the job for a good price, but I think he was lucky!
I believe you need to be very careful that sprung loaded parts don't pop out and either get lost or leave you trying to work out what order they reassemble in! Still, the factsheet should cover all that!
Good luck
