Erratic speedo faster than 65mph

Post by dhonuill » Tue Nov 10, 2009 5:28 pm

Hi there - any thoughts on fixing a speedo that behaves erratically (bounces) at or faster than about 65mph? Have tried replacing both senders but same thing happens.

Thanks!

Mine jumps from 30mph to over 65, I'm wondering if it's electrical spikes, poss from the alternator?

Chipped speedo?
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Absolutely! Methinks a capacitor is needed in there!

Or fit a GA5R Mazda 626 speedo & ditch the chip if you want trip counter in miles, I've just got a repalcement face on mine, quite happy working in kms, especially when I'm abroad.
