Below the accelerator is a black plastic disc with the word 'LOCK'' on it.
Question:
What is it for/do.
Apologies to BDC for the muddy state of the pedal - will get it cleaned and polished

all it does is to hold the carpets in place, if you turn it then the cap comes off so you can pull out the carpets to clean them.

Bit dissapointed cos I was hoping it would activate the di-lithium crystal located under the bonnet somewhere which would in turn regenerate the whatsit behind the front bumper and take make me 30 yeaars younger (but still allow me to stay retired).
Never mind - I can still dream about such things.

I would give it a sniff before you clean it...you never can be too careful
