central locking wires
Hi all,
I've asked this question before recently and didn't get an answer
Can somebody please tell me what the 3 wires in the central locking are for
They are black. blue . Green & white.
I want to wire up a remote central locking kit and don't own a multimeter.I have found out not to waste money on a flip out key as they don't do one for the bongo, even if the one supplied look the same and have the same reference no. as the original
Many thanks Dave

I'm sure there's a set of instructions in the members area for this?
I did mine about 4 years ago and long since forgotten.
PS How's the motor running?

Re: central locking wires
Yup, there's a factsheet in the members area that shows the wiring.
You can get a cheap meter for a few quid, well worth the investment for faultfinding as well.

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
Re: central locking wires
Hi Graham,
The fact sheet doesn't list the wires used or if it does I cant read the writing on my print out
The head issue was sorted after 3 heads
The block was skimmed by the head suppliers and cured the issue
The final bill was reasonable and mr Taylor once again proved what a decent bloke he is to do buisness with

I'm colour blind and I couldn't read them either
Glad it all got sorted, he's a good lad that Mr Taylor
I keep on thinking of ringing him to tell ours is going ok but I don't want to tempt fate...
Thinking of running a mini meet at RAF Cosford - tempted? I've asked them for available dates etc. Should be a bit better for facilities than Tackeroo in the winter

Re: central locking wires
I would be interested to go to a mini meet and show off my conversion now the beds in
What a difference it has made to bongo life

Great, I will sort a date as soon as I hear from the museum.
I just had a look at the copy of the factsheet I download in July 2005
It's as per missfixit70 advice - you'll need a multi meter or a bulb holder and two wires, or pop up the A34 and use mine

Re: central locking wires
unless you have factory fitted RCL then you dont have a motor in the drives door, so you accessing the vehicles wiring will only end in tears, configure your unit as direct motor control and add a motor to the drivers door, takes 30 mins.

Re: central locking wires
Hi Julian,
Can you explain in simple terms please
I can't get the indicators to flash as yet
So adding a motor might be too much work for me

Re: central locking wires
By motor he means actuator as described in the fact sheet. Easy enough to do, hardest bit is finding the right position to mount it & that isn't particularly difficult, it can just be a bit of a bloody knuckle job.

Re: central locking wires
There's a top tip of cutting the clear plastic film and taping afterwards rather than disturbing the black sticky sealant (from hell).....too late?
