had my bongo for a few weeks and i only have one big problem and that is the stereo so before i go and by a new one i just wantd to check a few this as im not very good with tec
could it, (a) be the stereo (b) the aerial (c) somthing else
it works fine on the motorway to work and round my open streets but as soon as i get into the city its really bad any help would be great thanks
We binned ours last year and got a new one fitted - marginally better than the old one (the reception, not the radio!). It goes fine for a while then we get all sort of interference.
Might be worth checking the aerial feeder cable - there is a connector somewhere around the driver's side windscreen pillar. If this is disconnected, or corroded, etc, then you will have pretty pants reception. It's never going to be great though with the standard AFT aerial.

Personally i'd look for any excuse for a new stereo if mine was playing up like that! The tuner in all probability hsas had it's day by the sound of it... ( I assume you have checked the connections?) Maybe Daveblueozzie will post a link to the new stereo he got for his bongo, a little belter by all accounts! and only about £50!

I got the Aldi £50 stereo the other week - can't find a link now - and it's a belter. AM/FM/CD/MP3/USB/SD/Bluetooth. TBH, the bluetooth is 'just' OK when using it as a handsfree phone. When playing music over bluetooth from a phone, it's excellent. Maybe just a poor microphone? But as a stereo, it's excellent.
Lidl are also doing a similar unit for £50, but without the bluetooth.
