This thread may help - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... at#p202471
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Thanks Kirsty. Very useful.
Having never replaced a thermostat before, could someone give me an idea as to how long it would take? I've messed around with the coolant before replacing a radiator, so have an idea how long that side of things takes. It sounds like the thermostat is easy to locate, and relatively easy to extract on a 4wd with the right tools, which I have.

Re: Factsheet for replacing thermostat?
Just to replace the stat, 20 minutes? , depends if you take the opportunity to give it a thorough flush (with some holts 2 part flush or similar) with the stat out (easier bleeding & flushing - just don't forget to put it back in before refilling with the correct coolant
), if you do, just use the old rubber gasket in place to seal the joint.

I'd offer assistance, but I'll be in Pewsey this weekend - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... 35&t=33654
