loss of power oh no!!

Post by chipvan » Sun Oct 04, 2009 8:41 pm

Ive been running a treat on my twin tank kit done plenty of miles on it without a problem,

Ive cahnge the fuel filter
cleaned out the little filter on banjo, blew through it and washed it out

anything else i can try??

saw some where about air intake bag blocking it (not sure where that is,)

The problem is onle on runs over say 50mph wife has not noticed it as she is doing round town stuff...

Just lacking umph and revs are not normal, seems to change late??

oh dear hope its not bad news!! #-o

Can't believe it is serious bad news, just a brain teaser, Have you had a search on here as there have been a few threads from owners suffering loss of power.

Fingers crossed for you - keep us posted. 8)

Air intake is in front of & below the battery under the bonnet, check the air filter's not blocked, but it sounds like the turbo isn't kicking in, haven't had the problem myself, but it's come up a few times, could be as simple as a little vacuum pipe just needs sticking back in the relevant place, do a search on past threads on turbo & pipe, may bring the answer up you need.
Could also be the pick up in the fuel tank partially blocked - blow it back through & see if that makes a difference.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

Definitely sounds like fuel starvation - a new filter fixed mine, but you've already done that :? I take it that it's the same from the diesel or veg oil tanks? (unlikely to be two blocked pipes).
