Replacement rear reversing light

Post by iamsamtaylor » Fri Oct 02, 2009 5:05 pm

Very quick one, I've purchased one of J.A.S. white rear reversing lights that fits into rear bumper to replace drop-down light, I assume legally it should go on drivers/offside if I'm only fitting one?

Cheers in advance, Sam

You can mount your reversing light anywhere on the bumper that you wish - new cars with only one reversing light usually have them in the nearside light cluster / bumper as they mount the foglamp in the offside cluster / bumper. If you are only fitting one why not mount it in the centre of the bumper - I have four reversing lamps fitted - two in the light clusters and two under the towbar step and I still can`t see a thing #-o so I also use the rear foglamps. Can`t hit the wifes car can I - well not whilst she is watching anyway. :)

I had two auxiliary reversing lights mounted in my rear bumper (they were switched when required) However, when i changed to "new shape" lights, i reverted them to flush fogs as they were simply not needed anymore. (for some reason the new shape rear reverse lights are much better than the older type bongo lamps).

I'd go for a central mounted lamp i think Sam to keep things symmetrical...It's perfectly legal.
