Di and Jamie wrote:Apparently the traffic is naff for any of you travelling on the M6 during rush hour. It's down to 2 lanes between J33 & J34 on both carriageways with a speed limit of 50MPH with average speed cameras. We were going to head for the southbound carriageway last friday at about 6PM but received a a warning from a friend to not hit the M6. We saw the queues in time and found an alternative route. Through the day it shouldn't be too bad but if you are heading up friday tea time be prepared for tailbacks

or find an alternative route although the A6 would be heaving as that passes straight through Lancaster. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it was suggested to me that I should warn you. I must say though the traffic jam will never be as bad as Blackpool lights on saturday night though
Safe journey to you all

I agree,we went to Carnforth on Sunday. No problems northbound ,but coming home at 4pm was a nightmare. What should `ve been a 45 min drive took 2 hrs due to the roadworks.Worth bearing in mind if you go home via M6S,may be better to use the A6 and rejoin the Mway at the Tickled Trout.

I'll be on site on Thursday evening and then hopefully from Friday lunchtime.
Can't guarantee your hookup pitch will be vacant until about 2.00pm on Friday but we will try.
On thursday night I'll be allocating the hookup pitch numbers and will leave a list with Mike the warden so if I don't make it back before peeps arrive then at least they can go onto their hookup.
With the non hookups I will simply decide which is the noisy end and which is the quiet end then let peeps sort out where they want to be.
cheers

Oh I do hope you come, it won't be the same without you three ! Friday is the worst day; rain all day, but Sat lunch onwards looks ok according to Metcheck.
Chip will miss Emma if you don't make it....[ a bit of emotional blackmail here-sorry]
Fingers well and truly crossed

Just in time to dry out then. Just hope there are enough keen cyclist to ride over the ground sheet again whilst eating Icecream.

Just a thought. If you want to avoid the M6, perhaps some could venture over the Long Preston Route which brings you out at Junction 36. I think that's the way we are going to head up.
