My Bongo dont feel right!

Post by Leets » Sun Sep 13, 2009 4:58 pm

Hi all need a bit of help, when i am driving my bongo over 60mph it feels like its being over taken by a large vehicle it pulls to the right then back to the left or like what it feels when its very windy. I had new tyres put on the back in july but we have swopped them over but it makes no difference , also had the tracking done. Do any off you folks know what it is?
Cheers for now Leets

Have a rummage around the front wishbones/ball joints.

Mine had a few wierd things going on like that until the last MOT notced a knackered ball joint.

It drives like new now!!

Front tyre pressures ok?

Hi,

I'd check the following:

Tyres are the same make/model/size (I had 2 different sizes on the front of mine originally).
Pressures
Tracking
Are your brakes binding.

Yup, the bigger the wheels the more prone it seems to be Dar. Sometimes my steering feels so vague (as both wheels attempt to climb out of the ruts, counteracting each other giving a "floating" feel) That it's quite disturbing...It gets me paranoid in case a bobby is behind me and gives me a tug!

Good point on the larger wheels. I've noticed the accelera tyres I now have are much better than the previous pirelli P0's which was a surprise. Drives completely differently than before.

With a bit of luck it'll be something simple, and hopefully cheap! [-o<
