Help Needed. Drivers Window Stuck DOWN!

Post by ummmm » Fri Sep 04, 2009 6:28 pm

Hi all

As you can see from the title I have a bit of a problem. Long story but in a nutshell think the kids managed to break the rocker swith for the drivers window. it was a bit flakey so we decided to not use it until we got it checked at the garage. Unfortunately i knocked it as i got into the van today and the window went down. The problem is it will not now go back up. Is it possible to take the switch out and swap the plugs on the back so i can use the passenger switch to return the drivers window up and then leave the Drivers switch 'not plugged in'. It would appear to be intermittent and i don't think it's the wiring in the door loom as the other window still operates as normal from both switches.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to prise out the Electric window switch from the door. I guess it's just got some noby bits at the sides or top and bottom.

I'm not too bothered about getting the window working again just getting it back up to the top as i reckon it may rain tonight.

Rgds

We live in Lymington New Forest and have a slight problem. Our drivers door window is stuck, unfortunately it is on the down position. This may seem like a far out solution but if you live near by could i borrow your drivers door switch for about 30 secs to put our window up until i can get it fixed properly. I've removed mine quite easily and it just has one plug on the back. As i said we are based in lymington and can travel where ever may suit.

Kind regards

Craig.

Thanks to Crazy i now have my window in the right place. Now just got to find a replacement switch as this one seems to have a mind of it's own.

Thanks Again

I only got your message after Crazy had already rode to a very efficient rescue. Pleased to find the worst of the crisis is over.

Murphy's law always says windows stick open when rain is due, as do sunroofs.

There is a new Bongo breakers in North Baddesley. Could be worth a try for a switch no adress but phone 02380 733995 or 07860612360. Link here
