squeal at high revs

Post by John the sparky » Tue Sep 01, 2009 8:31 am

I have nearly worked my way through my tuit list......

so it is only natural, that with 'repaint the towbar metalwork' as the last thing on my current list..... I should now get a squeal at high revs....

it doesn't happen all the time, and only up at 3750 to 4000 revs.... so I sort of notice it when trying to pull away sharply or overtake, my first thought was belts.... but then I thought it could be alternator.... or possibly turbo, or an airleak on manifold or turbo.....

then I went to bed and thought I'd ask on here before opening the engine cover

any tips or pointers received with thanks

No 1 exhaust manifold stud? The one that's visible at the front of the manifold, possibly won't now be there.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

been and looked and yeah, no 1 manifold stud.....

so I'll see if I can get a sensible price at a garage..... can't really muster the enthusiasm to do it in the evening

cheers, and thanks
