Aternator Recon?

Hi I am still getting very intermitent charge and sediment lights - along with a flucuating temp needle and am fairly sure that at some stage a new alternator is on the cards - again!

Was wondering about recon units as I still have the original Mazda one - any good mail order companies or any one found any down in the South West - I know there is a good price from the Startemer Motor company in plymouth for new units £120 - just trying to squeeze the price even more. Any tips?
