Re: v6 rad fans not working
normaly they come on when the air con is ,well on most cars that is .quik and easy check.
Re: v6 rad fans not working
The fans recieve two seperate feeds, one from the coolant side and one from the air con side, so it isn't a conclusive test switching the aircon on. I had the same red herring when trying to diagnose a problem on my aircon, the fans worked on the coolant side but not on the aircon side. Turned out to be the fans.

Re: v6 rad fans not working
Bridge the two wires on the radiator fan switch with the ignition on and the fans should kick in, if not, with the fan switch still bridged check for a feed at the fans (making sure your aircon is switched off). If there is a feed at the fans then it is your fans that are at fault.
Also check the fuses under the bonnet marked fan1 fan2.

Put the old switch back on ?
It was all working before you replaced it after all
Maybe it's not that simple,,,,,,,,, but it might be
Best of luck

Re: v6 rad fans not working
the fans work when the switch is bridge , but there is no heat coming into the cab , could it just be a airlock in the heater system causing the fans to not work , if i lift the wiring of the fan thermo switch slightly the fans work ,but if i push it down all the way the fans stop working
Re: v6 rad fans not working
It sounds like you have an air lock in the heater matrix but also a possible break in the wires to the fan switch. Japanese wiring notoriously thin
. Follow the instructions on here for bleeding the cooling system, but locate and repair that break in the wiring first.
Good luck

Good luck

Are we talking about rad fans, heater fan or scavenge fan that you are trying to get working?bigmal wrote:the fans work when the switch is bridge , but there is no heat coming into the cab , could it just be a airlock in the heater system causing the fans to not work , if i lift the wiring of the fan thermo switch slightly the fans work ,but if i push it down all the way the fans stop working

Re: v6 rad fans not working
If you suspect you have an airlock, then you need to bleed the system asap. when you say there's no heat coming into the cab, is the heater/ac fan itself blowing ok?

Re: v6 rad fans not working
I'd think they're different, pretty sure they run at different temps, I'm sure some of the v6 guys'll be along soon.
