Think i have killed my Bongo!

Post by Betty Bongo » Thu Aug 27, 2009 8:34 pm

Just been checking my fuses to sort out the problem with my fridge and think/sure i have blown the main fuse taking the cover off as the bongo won't start and there was spark!
Off up to Norfolk tomorrow, so need to sort out, is the main fuse easily obtained, removed and fitted?

Thoughts much appreciated.

Not sure never blown it but I think it has nuts and bolts to hold it in place, I got a full set of Mazda fuses from a wreck in a scrap yard

yes, you can get a replacment from any good motorfactors, take your old one to compare as it is an odd fuse.

It is bolted in place, so you will need to unbolt it before trying to pull it out

If you have another vehicle check if the fuses are compatable & swop for now. Replacements can be found at all motor factors including Halfords.

That's probably why it's blown a fuse!

When I popped the main fuse (dropped the oil dip-stick on the alternator terminal. D'oh!) I was in the Highlands of Scotland. I just took the lead off one side of the main fuse and put it on the other side. It meant by-passing the main fuse until I got a replacement but it was something I could live with!!
