Auto Box not changing gear.

I am new to this forum so if this topic has been discussed else where could you point me in that right direction. Alternatively any other advice would be appreciated.

I have a 4wd automatic bongo and it has stopped changing gear!
When I pull off in D I get 1st and 2nd gear but it will just rev instead of changing into 3rd.
If I select L on the gear shift it keeps the box in 1st and 2nd gear then it drives fine, albeit slowly.

As I live in France it is difficult to get it to a bongo / auto box specialist. I have an English mechanic who replaced the fluid and solenoid for me as I was advised initially that it could be the solenoid that was faulty. Still the same problem. Also the old fluid did not smell bad or look dirty.

Anyone else had this problem.

have you pressed the hold button or is the hold light flashing ?

No flashing HOLD light and I have not pressed the HOLD button in.
Problem occurred when driving normally. Bongo was driving fine and it just stopped changing gear.
