CYLINDER HEAD REPLACEMENT TWICE

Have had our Bongo tested for cracked cylinder head now...went down the route of putting dye in and having Bongo checked for leaks. NONE VISIBLE. Next thing pressure test....Then the DREADED SNIFFER TEST.... Took Bongo in yesterday to have cylinder head checked over... Still awaiting results as a very busy garage....
Bought cylinder head from THE HEAD CENTRE IN PAR last year (ALMOST TO THE DAY OF A YEAR)... Fortunately we were within TWO DAYS of it running out. PHEW.. What I would like to know is as this was no fault of our own and to be fair they will have to replace the faulty head....WHO PAYS FOR THE REPLACEMENT TO BE RE-FITTED??? I know you will probably say that is the name of the game and other such quotations but has anyone been through this experience and had either a discount or followed another route to avoid paying the excessive amount to be replaced. Is there any way it can be claimed from the HEAD CENTRE. I know I am clutching at straws but we are starting to get REALLY WORRIED that this will be an annual event for our poor BONGO.

I know it must be very frustrating, but to be fair to the Head centre they can only guarantee there work/head and not the workmanship of the garage that fitted it (could they not fit the replacement?). My main concern would be if this is the second head replaced WHAT actually is the route cause of all the problem? What symptoms are you getting to make you suspect the head etc etc.
Now I say this because since the last Bongo Bash I was losing some water and for the hell of it I couldn't find the cause, eventually after a couple of weeks I found that when the motor had warmed up I was getting back pressure into the header tank and this was where I was losing the water from the pressure release cap/pipe, cheapest option and the easiest to check was the thermostat, as i was on holiday and had no spare I just dropped the old one out popped it in a bowl of boiling water and discovered it wasn't opening, Hey presto no back pressure, no water loss and therefore no temp rise I have since run for weeks now with no problem at all, just a thought and a heads up for anyone else with these symptoms
P.S I do have a replacement thermostat now thankyou.

Thanks for prompt reply. New thermostat fitted, no back pressure. Radiator and header tank caps in tact. Classic symptom of head problems small puff of white smoke on start up....running on 3 cylinders for a few seconds. This seems to be the classic symptoms of a head or gasket problem.

We live in Kent so out of the question for Cornwall centre to fit new head. Would be nice to live in Cornwall again but hey ho.

Crazy, so you are saying you thought the thermostat was the problem, removed it and put in boiling water, proved it wasn't opening and then re-fitted it and the problem was gone or didn't refit it and the problem was gone?

Are you pulling my plonker?? obviously after diagnosing the fault I just run with it left out (summer time an all) since then I have got a replacement

Well don't know where the threads are going now.
Thermostats seem to have taken over from my ORIGINAL thread i.e. any come back for the head being faulty and having to pay TWICE for the fitting of it.

I would think your prospects are not good. I suspect that, IF the head was proven to be faulty, the supplier only needs to supply a replacement head as they didn't fit it. It's always a very grey area when the supplier and fitter are not the same
