Rear bumper alignment

Post by EddyH » Wed Aug 19, 2009 12:21 pm

The rear bumper on our bongo has been misaligned since we bought it. The passenger side is higher on the corner to the extent that it is pushed up against the light cluster. It looks like the bumper has taken a knock on the lower passenger side corner. Can anyone offer advice on getting it lined back up correctly?

Hi EddyH,

The rear bumper (from memory) pretty much lines itself up in respect of there are four main bolts to the body, plus two more. (one on each wheel arch).
Then you have the other gubbins that trim where the mud flap goes...

There are lugs that act as a guide when fitting the rear bumper prior to bolting on.. (One in the centre top & two that go to the bracket on the body.)

I would look to see the bumper hasn't split in the unseen location below the rear lens.. this could be throwing the wheel arch section out of alignment, giving a distorted appearance??

This might help! http://www.lushprojects.com/bongopartsm ... mgno=.html
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...
