thermal imaging
Does anyone have thermal imaging experience ideally with a Flir P60 infrared camera?

Re: thermal imaging
I have a camera and had a play today (with the bongo).westonwarrior wrote:for what perpose ????
Today, I obtained some images, mainly of the cylinder head and cooling system areas, just for the hell of it.
I checked the temperatures obtained by the camera and compared them to The TM-2 readings.
Basically pal, I have time on my hands, a superb camera (P60), a willing subject (Bongo), and I was wondering if I could determine (god knows what).
Any ideas?

Re: thermal imaging
it would be usefull for testing radiators
get the car good and hot and scan the rad with the heat sensing camera looking for cold spots
lots of cold spots new rad needed

The rad was one place I tried with limited sucess due to access. Best shot I got was from the side and even this was limited. A direct frontal would be the ideal but the rad is totally surrounded isn't it?

Infrared images of radiator - front and side
Rad front http://i445.photobucket.com/albums/qq17 ... R_0210.jpg
Rad side http://i445.photobucket.com/albums/qq17 ... R_0212.jpg
I was only able to get images of the top 100mm due to poor access but interrogation of the images shows a reduction in temperature (over the top 100mm) from 76 deg.C to 70 deg.C.
These numbers mean nothing to me - does this sound about right?
Just had a look at these and they are crap - can't seem to get this pics bit sorted

You and my husband should get together.
I was wondering why you were taking photos of your rad until I read your other post. The thermostat opens at about 82 degrees and the rad and bottom hose temperatures are going to vary depending on whether or not the thermostat has opened.
