Having owned an RX8 mine did approx 1,500 -2,000mls to a litre so you not exactly checking the oil every day. These engines don't exactly burn oil because they are worn out. Oil is sprayed in via a pump to keep the tips (seals) lubricated.
Like any car i would reccomend these to anyone wanting a proper 4 seater sports car - But get one with F.S.H !

Cheers Gray.

The rotor "walks" around the epitrochidal chamber shape with equal pressure on the tips due to it running eccentrically with the help of the internal gears. The rotor running at 1/3 the rotor shaft speed.

Think your memory has faded a bit Brian, the Prinz was a 2 cylinder (although they did a 4 cyl 1200 TT) - I drove one when I was 10 :)
The RO80 was the wankel. 8)

Perhaps his Prinz had an Ro80 engine fitted - that would have gone like he said

Dandy,

Youre correct and have jogged my memory,he did have a Prince and wrote it off (i think the boot was at the front, but may be wrong) then he bought an RO80,which had the Wankel engine.

Cheers
