Is there anyone going to this meet, from Chesterfield area could pick up a spare wheel (rim only) from Tan Hill, courtesy of grim-up-north? (cheeky b*****d - if yer don't ask, yer don't get)
PM'd rabbitsquasher, who is doing the trip this weekend in reverse and maybe could help if he picks up PM.
I would be eternally grateful and any taker would be suitably compensated - brass or ale.

lmao I'm not confused in the slightest! Here's what I'm doing.....

We're leaving Friday afternoon, say 2.30. We're heading down to The Peak District and wait for it.... we're visiting relations in Chesterfield Saturday and possibly Sunday morning / early afternoon.

If this is of use to anyone for any reason, please hold your hand up.... now!

Just yell.

We really wish we could make this one, but we are excavating a huge loft space that till now has not been tapped. I can clear so much clutter into it so we are going to soldier on with this. Shame but I have my sensible head on (rare).

I know you guys will have fun

Jo :)

I'm also going to be a cheeky b*gger and ask if anyone could do a relay of a wheel from TanHill to Edinburgh or Aberdeen?

No probs if not, but I can't make this weekend due to a family thing :-(

Cheers

Getting this thread back on track   - we will be up at Tan Hill early afternoon all being well. The kids tell me they want to come this year despite my best efforts to tell them how bored they will be, especially if it chucks it down

I'll be there or thereabouts with the shed (now renamed The Burrow cos that where my rabbits live now) from Friday evening.

Geocaching on Saturday.

Drinking on Saturday night.

Leaving The Burrow at Tan Hill on Sunday morning and pegging it back to Grange to pick up Robina and grandson Mikey then off to Forbidden Corner returning via Tan Hill to pick up the caravan.

Busy weekend.

cheers

Turn up and leave when you like.

1. There is a campsite around the back of the pub but its a bit hilly and grassy so I don't recommend it for bongos. Can be noisy

2. There is the car park which is flat (ish) and if there is room you can usually overnight on it. There is a very basic loo and a tap. Can be noisy.

3. Park opposite the pub on the layby if there is room. Flat but can be muddy if wet. The quietest place by the pub.

4. About 400 metres east of the pub there is a small quarry with some flat areas in it. Quite sheltered but absolutely no facilities. Very quiet unless there is a party in there.

If you want breakfast provided at the pub you need to buy a ticket the previous evening. Turn up in the morning without a ticket and asking for breakfast and be prepared for a torrent of abuse.

Having said all that the atmosphere and the quality and range of booze on offer is second to none.

cheers
