Towing Horse box

can a Bongo tow a x2 Horse Box? with out doing dam to engine? At mo we are using a 2.5 Landrover Disco to do so but would like to switch over to the Bongo.

the weight is what we need there is a max towing weight but Im not sure what it is

The Bongo does tow well, but its maximum towing weight is much lower than the Disco,which is designed to tow.

I tow a small caravan with mine but I would not treat it as the load lugger the Disco is. The other point is the suspension rather than the engine. The Disco again has a much stronger design to take the extra weight of the trailer. Also check your cooling system is ok. It will run hotter towing especialy up hills.

If the trailer is within the maximum weight you should be ok. But I have owned both and they are very different vehicles designed for totaly different jobs.

Most people never use Disco's to their full ability anyway. They make things look easy which something more car like will find hard.
