Mason alarm

Hiya folks,just bought a Masons alarm to fit on the Bongo.I wondered if there was anyone who
has fitted a Masons alarm in my area to come along and help to fit mine.It looks simple to do,
but a bit hands on knowledge would help.If not a few pics of the fitting process would help.

It should come with an instruction sheet with photos. Shouldn't take you more that half an hour to get it wired in & then you need to decide where to mount it.

Fitted the Mason alarm today,didn`t take long as you said,more straight forward than I thought.
Took about 30 mins,I have set it between 4-5,taking the info from the other posts on the forum,this seems to be the "norm" setting.Going to take it for a good run then see if the alarm
needs any adjustment.I assume that turning the dial one way or the other makes the alarm sound off,then turn it in the opposite direction to fine tune it.Thanks for the replies,Eric.

When I get my Bongo (hopefully late next week) I was thinking of fitting one of these and possibly a low coolant alarm.

Though I am not sure if to get an all in one coolant and temp alarm like this :

Its bad enough drilling into the coolant bottle (though I know many do it with no problems) but also for the temp gauge I am also a little nervous of undoing one of the head bolts to fit it

I`m unsure myself,I think prevention is better than cure.Fitting an alarm is obviously peace of mind,I`m thinking of going to a Bongo competent garage to get my coolant hoses checked out and renewed if needed.They look o.k. to me,of those that I can see,but I`m no expert

I fitted a TM-2 (all-in-one) recently and it's excellent.
The bolt that is used to fit the alarm is not a cylinder head bolt - just one that happens to be convenient to fix to.
When I did mine, I called Hayden a couple of times and he was extremely helpful.
In retrospect, it was far easier to fit than the instructions suggest.
Good investment and interesting to see the thermostat doing its thing.

Just fitted my mason alarm, just before we go off to Skye for 2 week, can't wait.

And will back it up to say I've fitted my mason as well....and again if I can do it....anyone can! Only thing I thought was that check you are putting one of the spades into the connector behind the temp guage as two labelled the same on the same circuit (The IG connector I think) there's a similar one that looks like it's more linked to the fuel guage.... assuming it makes a difference. The 'chirp' isn't as loud as I thought it would be.

..... and don't sh!t yourself when you hear a long continuous beep once you've connected it up.........erm, well, you've probably erm, just left your lights on and the key's still in the ignition with your door open

In saying that I've yet to go for a drive, but I'm sure it'll be fine once I check it!

Just before I mess it up, can anybody confirm which cowling requires removal to fit the Mason alarm? Is it the one that surrounds the gauges? It sounds like it is, but I just want to be sure.

yes.......undo the 4 screws and remove the cowling....quick tip.....drop the steering wheel down,....behind the cowing you will find 4 more screws......undo & remove those, then pull the display forward and disconnect the plugs........ fit mason to instructions and reverse the fitting....

You don't have to undo a head bolt...You get a short bolt in the kit and it goes in a spare threaded hole in the cylinder head...It's all in the instructions.
As for drilling into the tank....almost 1000 have been fitted, untill recently there were 2 holes to drill so about 1,900 holes drilled...not ONE single problem reported.
